Reflexology

is based on the idea that a map of the body is reflected on the hands and feet, and by applying alternating pressure to specific points on the hands and feet you can affect various organs and parts of the body.

Reflexology

reduces stress (a major contributing factor to disease), enhances the body’s ability to heal itself, and balances both body and soul. Research shows that a single reflexology session can create relaxation, reduce anxiety, diminish pain, improve blood flow and decrease high blood pressure.

Foot Reflexology is beneficial for restoring balance and harmony in the body and releasing tension.

Helps to balance the whole person: physically, mentally and emotionally.

Many people describe a profound sense of relaxation and increased energy following their session. In addition, specific studies have shown that reflexology can reduce pain and anxiety decrease premenstrual symptoms, and reduce fatigue and insomnia.

Benefits of Reflexology

Include its ability to stimulate nerve function, increases energy, boosts circulation, induces a deep state of relaxation, eliminates toxins, stimulates the central nervous system, prevents migraines, cleans up urinary tract conditions, speeds recovery after injury or surgery, helps relieve sleep disorders, reduces depression, and relieves pain. Furthermore, it can help ease the treatment of various cancer and even helps to soothe the pains of pregnancy, even those occurring after the baby is born.

The Ultimate Comfort of Foot Reflexology: A Relaxing Experience in a Posh Recliner

Foot reflexology is done in a chair is like a posh sun lounger.  Clients sit in the chair to begin with and then I push the chair back to recline.  The chair doesn’t lie completely flat which I think is good as it is easier to retain eye contact with them and many clients, particularly pregnant women, find it very uncomfortable to lie flat on their backs.  Virtually every client says how comfortable the chair is. I have a covered foam bolster that I slide under the client’s ankles to raise their feet a little higher so that I don’t strain my back trying to reach their feet.

I use three hand towels – one to clean the client’s feet and the other two to cover the feet. For wash I use lavender sanitizer, foam soap and olive oil massage cream for feet.

At the end of the treatment I encourage clients to drink to drink plenty of water after a reflexology treatment as reflexology has a detoxifying effect on the body and so water helps to flush those toxins away.
